The Problem

Our client needed technical capability to design, build and support a complex and scalable tax compliance platform.

The Project

Founded in 2014, our client was early to recognise key changes to how governments and the EU tax digital services. It set out codifying national sales tax regulations in digital goods across the EU and further afield. With the introduction of VATMOSS in the EU blocks (and similar trends in the US and Asia) our client was able to offer a functional attuned SaaS platform for commerce merchants to enable them to easily comply with complex EU VAT regulations for B2C digital product sales. Daunted by the onerous requirements of VATMOSS, our client has been able to achieve leadership in their market segment.

Service Offered

Keeper provided early stage technical capability to our client in the form of a single senior Clojure developer. The initial engagement enabled our client to complete the technical and UX design of their MVP and to launch that with a group of beta-clients. Our client wished to appoint the initial Keeper developer as their CTO; a deal was concluded enabling a senior Keeper team member to become the client’s CTO, a position which he has held ever since. Keeper has continued to support the client with a number of experienced Clojure developers located remotely in Eastern Europe.

Services provided includes; Initial technical architecture design, MVP product build-out, ongoing product enhancements, development of eCommerce plug-ins. Ongoing Support & Maintenance (2nd and 3rd Level Support).

Tech Stack

Clojure, AWS, Postresql DynamoDB, Angular, React, ClojureScript, Jenkins.

The partnership with Keeper has helped our client to design and build its core product and it’s technical team. Our client has been able to get their product to market and to become the leading player in a significant global niche.
